Our Story
Steel Pay was founded in 2016 by payments veterans who believed enterprise finance teams deserved infrastructure as serious as the money they move. A decade later, we process $2.4 trillion annually across 180+ countries.
Mission
The global financial system moves trillions of dollars every day — but the infrastructure underneath it is fragmented, legacy, and opaque. Enterprise finance teams spend enormous resources managing a patchwork of payment vendors, reconciliation failures, and compliance gaps.
Steel Pay was built to replace that patchwork with a single, unified platform — one that handles every payment rail, every currency, every compliance requirement, and every settlement window in a single API-first stack. So enterprise teams can focus on their business, not their payment infrastructure.
Our Approach
Enterprise finance teams were stitching together four, five, six payment vendors — each with its own API, its own settlement window, its own reconciliation format. The result was operational drag, blind spots in treasury, and compliance gaps that regulators were starting to notice.
Existing solutions either handled domestic rails well but fell apart internationally, or offered global reach with no real-time settlement. Compliance was always an afterthought — a bolt-on layer that slowed payments down rather than enabling them.
The conventional wisdom was that rigorous compliance meant slower payments. We believed the opposite — that if compliance logic lived inside the payment flow rather than sitting above it, you could move faster and stay cleaner at the same time.
We spent years building the rails before we built the interface. Global settlement corridors, real-time liquidity routing, AML and sanctions screening embedded at the transaction level — the hard infrastructure work that most companies skip.
Steel Pay consolidates global payment rails, real-time settlement, fraud intelligence, treasury management, and compliance automation into a single API-first platform — so enterprise teams stop managing vendors and start managing outcomes.
Steel Pay serves enterprise customers across industries and geographies, processing payments across 180+ countries with SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS Level 1, and ISO 27001 certifications. The mission has not changed: make enterprise money movement as reliable as gravity.
Values
Every architectural decision starts with security. We hold ourselves to the highest certifications in the industry — not because we have to, but because our customers depend on it.
A payment that fails is worse than a payment that never existed. We obsess over uptime, latency, and fault tolerance before we ship anything new.
No hidden fees. No opaque pricing. No surprises in your settlement reports. Enterprise finance teams deserve complete visibility into every transaction.
We treat regulatory compliance as a competitive advantage — not a cost center. Our compliance engine lets customers move into new markets faster and with less risk.
